The Barrow Family

James and Jolyn

History in the making...

In January 2010, James and I will have been married 5 years. Oh my...the time has flown by. We both talk about how it does not feel that long and we still have so much to learn about each other. We both agree we have lots of places yet to see and food eat.

Speaking of food, James has added many dishes to his repertoire especially when I am gone for weeks at a time. One of his specialties includes lentils for dinner and then lentils leftovers with fried eggs and toast the next morning. Sounds funny but is very satisfying for both soul and body.

This year we had much success with our garden. We grew and harvested lots of tomatoes (grape size varieties mostly), jalapeños, and banana peppers. We made great tasting salsa (another addition for James' morning breakfast).

When I travel for work, I take pictures of my meals and share them, usually, with my mom and James. I am also taking pictures of our culinary treasures of organic veggies, chicken, cheese, and all the rest of the good homemade cooking going on in the Barrow household and beyond.

About Us

The story of how we met and where we are now (the website shows our current lives together):

James and I began our friendship via Internet dating. I was not having much luck with the few guys that met my very strict criteria and James was almost finished with dating. Lucky for me he opened my e-mail and what he found was love at first sight. No not really but it sounds good. The picture above is what really swept James off his feet and pushed him to meet me.

We talked on the phone on a Tuesday and by Friday were meeting at a local tapas bar for dinner. That was Friday, November 8, 2003. We were married Friday, January 7, 2005.
