It's the end of October and beginning of November 2008 and James and I headed west for time in the mountains and time on the coast. What spectacular scenery and best of all hardly anyone around.
While the ski resorts were not officially open for skiing until a week after we left, that was okay as we enjoyed the first snowfall (about 6 inches) of the winter season in the California and Nevada mountains. A day trip to Reno to visit the very cool car exhibit from the collection from Harrah's was well worth it. Back in San Fran we were back to light jackets and lots of sunshine except when we were deep in the woods at John Muir Woods.
