The Barrow Family

James and Jolyn

Gatlinburg, Tn. Family reunion, mostly

So it seemed like a good idea and all and all it was. Idea: Invite the whole family including an aunt to visit us in Atlanta and then all drive to Gatlinburg for a week's vacation.

In order to eliminate the constant interviewing and work required to coordinate family meals, I invented a cooking competition where all invited (including kids) had to submit at least two meal ideas along with the recipes and their source. These meal suggestions also had to take into consideration that some attendees had high cholesterol and diabetes. Each meal was then judged by all participants to determine a winner per meal. The recipes will eventually make it into a complete cookbook (it's almost done).

Some of the pictures include shots from Atlanta prior to departure to Tn. Some shots are from a day trip to Asheville and some photos are from a daytrip (without the kids) to Waynesville. Enjoy!!!

Unfortunately, Joe, John and their significant others could not make the trip. In addition, this turned out to be the last trip for my aunt Alma. She passed away August 5th as result of heart problems. Somehow she knew this would be her last trip and said she really enjoyed it. The recipes she supplied were always loved by everyone. She will be missed.
