Helsinki and Kemi Finland

After moving to Atlanta in 1991, I surely thought I would not need a super cold weather coat. As a matter of fact, after my last winter in Chicago 1990, I gave one of my mother's friends the down coat I used while in Chicago.

Well, in March of 2009, I had to scramble to get a new super winter weather coat. Luckily, Land's End had all kinds of down coats on clearance and I was able to get one for a reasonable price.

Anyway, please take a look at the pictures from Helsinki, the first ones through the picture of chairs (in the Amsterdam airport) followed by pictures of my two weeks in Kemi Finland. Never heard of it? Well it's off the Bering Sea, within a short day's drive to the Arctic Circle and just a half hour drive from Sweden (pics towards end at a meat trailer selling bear meat and other delicacies). By the way, notice the ice breaker pics, and see that I went swimming in the Bering Sea. So awesome.
